The Board of Police Commissioners of the Village of Pontoon Beach, Illinois derives its power and authority from an act of the General Assembly entitled, “Division 2.1 Board of Police Commissioners”, Chapter 65 5/10-2-1 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes.
Pontoon Beach Police Commissioners is a independent board appoint by the Mayor and approved by the Trustees of the Village of Pontoon Beach to act as a non-political body for the following:
- Application Process for Probationary Police Officers
- Promotional Process for Police Officers
- Hearing of Charges, Removals, Suspensions & Discharges for Police Officers in the Village of Pontoon Beach
