Located perfectly at the junction of key transportation and commuting thoroughfares, the Village of Pontoon Beach is an ideal place to locate any business. Pontoon Beach is home to the largest master-planned, regional business park in southwestern Illinois and the St. Louis bi-state area. The 2,300 acre Gateway Commerce Center's tenants include facilities for Procter & Gamble, Dial Corporation, Hershey Foods and the Flying J Travel Plaza. The 1.2 million square-foot Unilever Home and Personal Care product division's Midwest Distribution Center is the largest logistics/distribution facility in the St. Louis region. Gateway Commerce Center has attracted more than $200 million dollars in new investment resulting in almost 8.0 million square feet of new construction and created 2,000 employment opportunities.
The Village of Pontoon Beach is working with property owners and real estate developers to open an additional 1,000 acres of commercial property along the Interstate 270 corridor and Illinois Route 111 interchange adjacent to the Gateway Commerce Center. Planned and zoned for commercial and retail development, business sites are available from 1 to more than 500 acres.
The 100 acre 270 Commercial Park, located in the southwest quadrant of the Interstate 270 and Illinois Route 111 interstate interchange, is in the early phase of development. Adjacent to both Interstate 270 and Illinois Route 111, the Village is working closely with the owner/developer to encourage retail and commercial business development. Sites are available from 1 to 50 acres. Already, Mobil Fuel and Convenience Station and Taco Bell have opened. In addition, the Bel Air Commerce Park, located northwest of the Interstate 270 and Illinois Route 111 interchange, has had its first tenant, Speedco, open for business. The Bel Air Commerce Park has sites still available from 1 to 3 acres in the incentive laden, Enterprise Zone.
Located at the intersection of Interstate 255 and Illinois Route 162 in southeast Pontoon Beach, the 100 acre I-255 Business Park offers excellent access to the St. Louis region's interstate highway system. ConAgra Food's 22,000 square-foot regional distribution facility is the business park's first tenant. Sites available range from 5 acres to 100 acres and are ideal for small and medium sized businesses.
