Welcome to the Village of Pontoon Beach, Illinois, a community of new beginnings!
In 1999, I was elected Mayor of Pontoon Beach with the vision of improving the quality of life for the citizens of our community.
Since then the Village Board and I have implemented policies and procedures to promote new investment in our community and create employment opportunities for our citizens. Through the combination
of hard work and good fortune we have successfully attracted several
new retail, commercial and residential projects to the Village.
The 2,300 acre Gateway Commerce Center is the St. Louis region's largest, master planned business park and the new home to distribution facilities
for companies such as Unilever, Procter & Gamble, Hershey Foods and the Flying J Travel Plaza retail center. Two residential projects, Emerald Meadows and Prairie Trails, offer residents quality housing opportunities
in an excellent school system at a variety of price ranges.
Currently, the Village is working in partnership with several property owners and developers to open almost 1,000 additional acres of ground
for future residential and commercial development. As local government
we believe it is our responsibility to plan carefully while keeping an eye towards the future of the community.
The Village of Pontoon Beach is located in Madison County in southwestern Illinois and at the center of the St. Louis region.
